Electric power transmission is the bulk transfer of electrical power (or more correctly energy), a process in the delivery of electricity to consumers. A power transmission network typically connects power plants to multiple substations near a populated area. The wiring from substations to customers is referred to as Electricity distribution, following the historic business model separating the wholesale electricity transmission business from distributors who deliver the electricity to the homes. Electric power transmission allows distant energy sources (such as hydroelectric power plants) to be connected to consumers in population centers, and may allow exploitation of low-grade fuel resources such as coal that would otherwise be too costly to transport to generating facilities. The entire electrical supply system today consists of four primary functions: generation, transmission, distribution and supply. Many countries have through the years brought in competition to the fields of generation and supply and the trend of privatization in this industry has also increased now.

Aruvian Research analyzes the Electrical Supply Industries in the world in its research report Analyzing Electrical Supply Industries Worldwide. The report analyzes what is taking place in the Electrical Supply Industries in various countries across continents. The report gives a brief country profile, a profile of the energy industry in that country, and of course the status of the electrical supply industry in the country. Facts and figures related to the energy industry and the electrical supply industry is also included in this in-depth one-of-a-kind report.
