High demand helped to lift profits for Canadian chemical producers in the last couple of years, and experts say that this trend will continue in 2007. Feedstock availability is still a big issue for Canadian chemical producers, but they are working on ways to harness Canada's hydrocarbon riches for new petrochemical investments.

Indicators of the performance of the Canadian chemical industry were up sharply in 2005 and 2006. Chemical production is expected to increase for 16 of 17 major chemicals in the country.

The trade picture also improved for the Canadian chemical industry in 2006. The strong demand and operating rates made the year profitable for Canadian chemical producers.

Aruvian Research analyzes the Canadian chemical industry in its new report Chemical Industry in Canada. The report researches the characteristics of the Canadian chemical industry and the segments which, as a whole, make up this dynamic machinery of growth. The massive globalization and consolidation strides taken by the industry as explained in the report with the requirement of heavy capital investment that brings in more competition and the overall focus of the industry to meet the environmental challenge.

The industry’s dynamics like competition, infrastructure and the regulatory policies with the reporting requirements deployed on the industry are explained by the report.

A comprehensive section on the affect of the REACH agreement, which came in to effect from June 1, 2007, on the Canadian Chemical Industry, sets Aruvian’s offering apart from other reports on the subject. The report also profiles some of the leading players in the industry who have earned the reputation and pride for the Canadian Chemical Industry globally and have placed Canada at the top of the pecking order.
